  • The Phoenix

    - In many ancient cultures the Phoenix bird was a potent symbol of rebirth as it was periodically reborn from the ashes of its own destruction. This website, created by a chronic fatigue syndrome  (ME/CFS) patient, was born out of the hope that ME/CFS patients, too, will someday rise from the ashes of their often shattered lives and that the disease itself will emerge from the ash heap of recognition it currently recieves into the light of serious and sustained scientific endeavor.

    - the logo is from an abstract painting by my father, Theodore Johnson. It has always appeared to me as the figure of a person trying to get to their feet.
